Challenge Sharing???

Well, I survived the mowing of the lawn yesterday and boy, does it look nice. I did not feel the energy to do the weed eater, as just cutting the lawn, raking and sweeping took about 2 hours (I did mention that my lawn mower does not have a bag - so I have to do the bagging myself). Will find time later this week to trim the edges to make it look even nicer. I did tackle weeding that front rock area that I always have trouble with - so that looks nice. Later this week it is trimming down the ever growing rose bush in the backyard - so plenty of outside work to do. Looking forward to more outside activities with the weather changing, still a bit cold, but the sun is shining each day.

I have to and need to be honest, not doing the best that I can be in the weight loss department. I am not tracking my food, but not really over eating. In fact I know that I didn't eat as much yesterday, no desire to cook or make a decent meal. But, the biggest hold back is the exercise. Even if I am on the unemployment trail and seem to have tons of time to do the exercising, I am not putting it into my daily life. Yes, I have started walking again with the neighbor ladies and we are doing a 5K in May, but I really need to be doing a bit more. Not only do and I know I feel better when I exercise, but there are so many good things that come out of getting in a daily workout - like:

  • Better attitude
  • Confidence
  • More energy
  • Looking good
  • Fitting into the smaller size pair of pants
  • Having people notice I am losing weight
  • and listing all of those all over again, because saying them twice is just so nice !!!
Making the excuse of being busy is not a good one for me right now. I realized yesterday that even getting onto the blog for a few minutes or even 30 minutes a day can help boost my need to be a better person. Seeing even the struggles that others are having or the NSV's, or the new goals that are being met are a good way for me to be reminded why I really wanted to lose weight. Not just for me, but for the shear fact that I NEED to do this and there are so many out there that can help me DO this. I am missing so many of you - Chubby McGee, MicheleAlanDawn and the list can go on and on. Then there are the new ones that I selected to follow some months back and just don't or have not made the time to really get to know them, but do recommend a few that have inspired me lately - like: Jen, and Mrs. Success.....always good to just take a few moments to see what others are doing and get that jump start.

Just like the other day, when Mer called me and she felt like she needed some sort of kick start to get it ALL back in gear. Most of the time I have these great words of wisdom and an awesome pep talk, but I had lost some of my pep. I then thought of reaching out to the Blog World - wondering what some of you are doing this month for a challenge. A walking challenge, sit ups, 30 days of working out, 8 glasses a day makes you feel great...what might you be doing in the Month of April to keep you going with your workout and weight loss goal. Share with us - we would love to hear and if we have the option to join, then we can. Gives us another way to stay on track - being accountable to ourselves and to others. I will look around, but if you have a link for us, then please share.

Wishing you all a most wonderful Tuesday!!!

I think there are a couple of challenges out there that have just started. They do help! I think this time of the year can be difficult, due to the transitions to a spring/summer mindset. There's also the realization that warm weather is here, and there is no time to dawdle with the weight loss, which is what I have done a bit of. My best to both of you. Have a great week!

Aww, thanks so much for the shout out! I know it can be hard to fit things in when you're busy but even 10 minute chunks of exercise it all adds up! I don't have any challenges to refer but I'm sure people might have some ideas for you!

I am here, reading your blog, wishing you all the good things and wanting to share our journey as I have always done from DAY 1. We can do this, we can continue to revitalise each other and cheer each other on. I know you can do this, I know you can and totally believe in you. I find when the road is easy...plan weeks and months ahead if you like but when things are hard and motivation a struggle, wake up and make the new day just one good day, just today. Give it all you have for just one day. ( then repeat) xxXXxx Dawn

I am doing the Getting Ready for Summer Challenge. There are a lot of people signed up for this one. We had to create 4 goals, and then we blog about our progress each week. This is week 1, and I'm loving it! :)

Thanks so much for the shout out in your post. I feel so connected with people in the weight loss blogging community, especially those who have been around for awhile. I know this is an up and down ride to get fit and healthier. I've been doing this now for 22 months. That is not much when I consider how many YEARS I ignored my health. Not any more. I am worth my efforts and so are you. Dang, it can be hard sometimes, but it is our lives that we are talking about.

I joined the Get Ready for Summer (10 weeks)challenge too. It helps to post regular updates and gain the support of others involved in challenges.

I am hoping you get your mojo back, especially exercise. Keep repeating those seven things above to yourself. And hey, hop on a bike! That will get your spirits soaring...Oh, I guess I was talking about me, but it could work for you, too, Mo. Have a great end to your week. Your blogging friend, Michele

It's hard sometimes.. All I keep telling myself when I'm feeling less than motivated is ... If I hadn't given up a year ago, I would be in a much better place today. That keeps me going!
