Day 94- Three Columns of Weight Loss

Weight loss
Maintain
Gain
Live here and stick with your eating and exercising  plan. You don’t have to be perfect, but if you were consistent you would lose weight
You don’t go off your eating or exercise plan, but you are not solid. You eat some dessert and treats so you maintain your weight when you are here.
You are back to eating too much, portions are too large, you are having more sweets and snacks than usual. And you don’t exercise. So you gain weight here.

Everyday I live my life in one of these columns. There is no in-between here. At the end of the day I am going to to know which one matches my life.  I want to be in the weight loss column this year! Spangle says that I will need to live in the weight loss column 90% of the time. This is going to take hard work, but I know with the tools that I have I can do this! I can do hard things!
Where do you want to live this year? Can you do it 90% of the year? That will be 328.5 days out of 365 days.   36.5 days in which you could live in the maintain or gain column.  That is about 3 days a month to indulge.  So bring it on! Let's do this thing 90% of the time! Who is with me?

Day 88- I do care!

The big ideas from 100 days of Weight Loss by Linda Spangle:

When you are feeling down and want to give in say these things and give them a spin-

I do care! I will always care! And I will make it!

When you want whatever is easy as pie and your not feeling your worth. Take a moment to remind yourself-

You are worth it! You deserve to improve your life! You deserve to improve your health!

When you just don't feel like sticking to your plan and you don't want to take a stand just think of this-

Never give up! You can do it! Just hang in there!

Just remind yourself a dozen times a day and no matter how difficult it has been that-

I do care!
I do care!
I do care!
I do care!
I do care!
I do care!
I do care!
I do care!
I do care!
I do care!
I do care!

Working on caring from the inside-out!

Day 80-Get a New Title

Reflections from 100 days of Weight Loss by Linda Spangle

What do the words- "fat, lazy, failure, fat slob, pig" make you see in your minds eye? For me it brings a negative picture of myself. So Spangle says that the brain does not recognize the difference between negative and positive images so it will assume that you want to look like a PIG!
In this new year it is time to create a new and improved picture of yourself. This will help you focus on your goals and as the reading says it will make you focus on your potential instead of your mistakes. It is time to redesign the new you moving forward and making progress. Come up with a new name for yourself one that is happy, positive and makes you smile every time that you say it to yourself. Suggestions from the reading and I am not sure I like them, but here it is- sexy mama, hot babe, power woman. Maybe "beautiful healthy mama" will work for me. The other big idea is that you pick something that describes you without describing your weight or size. Use this new name whenever you are deciding how to manage your life challenges. So when dealing with a stressful day I can ask myself, "How would beautiful healthy mama handle this?"

Here are some other phrases to use to describe yourself-
I am a fit person!
I am a healthy person!
I am a balanced person!
I am a strong person!
I am a solid person!

Tell Beautiful Healthy Mama your new name for this next year-
Working from the inside out,

Mer's Vision Board 2011

Yesterday I took the kids to Borders to spend their gift certificates from Christmas. I was able to get a few health magazines and create my vision board. It is the perfect time to make one since all of the magazines are focused on weight loss and making positive changes.
It took a lot of looking, cutting, rearranging to get the message I wanted, but I really like the results.  I even took a picture of it with my cellphone and set it as my wallpaper so I have to look at it all the time.
It is all about envisioning success and this is my first baby step to building that "discipline muscle" in my mind.
